I’d love to share our experience after 7 days travelling around Banggai, from Luwuk to Pulau Peleng and Banggai Laut.

The Banggai Islands are an incredible destination, offering a fantastic journey through deserted white-sand beaches lined with palm trees, magical-looking lakes and impressive waterfalls. Every place we visited felt unique and wonderfully untouched.

Our trip was organised by Mohammad Syawal, and we would definitely recommend his agency, Explorer Banggai, if you’re planning to travel around this fantastic area.

We usually organise our trips by ourselves, but travelling around Sulawesi can be a little complicated. There’s a language barrier, you often have to find and contact different local operators, and options can be quite limited, especially during high season. So this time we decided to get some help from a local guide, and we couldn’t have made a better choice.

Mohammed was kind, reliable and always available. Communication was really good from the beginning to the end, and everything was very well organised - from guides and drivers to boats, which were always private for us and in great condition, as well as all the transportation and accommodation. He also helped us organise our transportation to the Togeans.
It defined made our trip much easier and completely stress-free.

A special thank you to Vito, our lovely guide, who was always kind, helpful and great company. He was an endless source of stories and information about his land and culture. We really enjoyed listening to him and learning more about Sulawesi, while he always gave us our own space and was never intrusive. He definitely made our trip even better.
